What is a complete vehicle wiring harness?

The automotive wiring harness is the main body of the circuit of the automobile. Without the wiring harness, there is no automobile circuit. The wire harness refers to a component that is formed by crimping a contact terminal (connector) made of copper material with a wire and cable, and then remolding an insulator or an external metal shell, and forming a connection circuit by bundling a wire harness. The wire harness industry chain includes wire and cable, connectors, processing equipment, wire harness manufacturing and downstream application industries. The wire harness is widely used and can be used in automobiles, household appliances, computers and communication equipment, various electronic instruments and meters, etc. The body harness connects the entire body. The general shape is H-shaped.

Automotive wires, also known as low-voltage wires, are not the same as ordinary household wires. Ordinary domestic wires are copper single-core wires that have a certain hardness. The automotive wires are all copper multi-core cords. Some cords are as thin as hair, and several or even dozens of soft copper wires are wrapped in plastic insulated tubes (PVC) that are soft and not easily broken.

Due to the special nature of the automotive industry, the manufacturing process of automotive wiring harnesses is also more special than other common wiring harnesses.

Compared with traditional wiring harnesses, multiplexed devices greatly reduce the number of wires and connectors, making wiring easier.
