At the same time, the quality of energy supply continued to improve, and the conversion of new and old kinetic energy accelerated. In the first quarter, the total investment in clean power generation such as water, nuclear, wind, and light was up 18% year-on-year, far higher than the 10.5% growth rate of all power investments, and the investment proportion was 66%. In the first quarter, the installed capacity of renewable energy continued to expand. As of the end of the first quarter, China's renewable energy power generation capacity reached 666 million kilowatts, an increase of 15.35 million kilowatts in the first quarter; of which, hydropower installed capacity was 342 million kilowatts, wind power installed capacity was 168 million kilowatts, and photovoltaic power generation installed 1.4 The installed capacity of billions of kilowatts of biomass power generation was 15.75 million kilowatts. In the first quarter, they were 770,000 kilowatts, 3.94 million kilowatts, 9.65 million kilowatts, and 990,000 kilowatts respectively. The installed capacity of renewable energy power generation accounted for 36.9% of the total installed capacity of electric power, an increase of 0.3 percentage points over 2017.
At the same time, the level of renewable energy utilization has increased significantly. In the first quarter, renewable energy power generation reached 344.2 billion kWh, an increase of 14% year-on-year; renewable energy power generation accounted for 22% of total power generation, an increase of 1.4 percentage points year-on-year. The problem of “three rejections” was effectively mitigated: the country basically did not abandon the water; the wind power for abandonment was 9.1 billion kWh, the wind abandonment rate was 8.5%, a year-on-year decrease of 8 percentage points; the amount of abandoned light was 1.62 billion kWh, and the abandonment rate was 4 .3%, a year-on-year decrease of 5.4 percentage points.
