The "scenery" of the ancient wasteland is infinitely good

In late autumn, a large wind farm at the foot of Luoshan Mountain. At the foot of the No. 31 wind turbine, the wind blew the wind wheel rumbling, and people stood under the tower as if standing on the toes of a giant.

Fan No. 31 has an impeller diameter of 118 meters, a blade nearly 50 meters long, and the tower supporting the impeller is hundreds of meters high. "The No. 31 fan works at full capacity throughout the year. According to the average annual utilization hours of the fan, this fan generates 464,600 kilowatt-hours of electricity per year." Yue Xinfeng said that one ton of standard coal can generate about 3,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity, 464,600 kilowatts. Electricity can be calculated using approximately 1,500 tons of standard coal, and a No. 31 wind turbine can save approximately 1,500 tons of standard coal a year.

"In terms of conversion rate, wind power is the most efficient clean energy source. However, due to the huge investment in wind turbines, a one-time investment of about 10 million yuan for a wind turbine will take about 10 years to recover the cost. At present, wind power cannot achieve parity power supply." According to people, as the technical difficulties of wind power continue to be overcome, the cost of wind power will continue to decrease, and the value of wind energy utilization will be higher.

In the Hongsipu Wind Farm, 60 wind turbines are scattered at the foot of Luoshan Mountain, continuously converting wind energy into electricity, which is integrated into the national grid and sent to thousands of households.

30 kilometers west of Luoshan, another piece of ancient wasteland is the Mahuanggou photovoltaic power plant in Hongsipu. It is still power generation, but this time the protagonist becomes solar energy. Large areas of wasteland are undulating like waves. Above the waves, rows of dark blue photovoltaic panels are shining silver under the sunlight, greedily absorbing the sunlight.

"Compared with wind power generation, the cost of photovoltaic materials has dropped in recent years. Photovoltaic power generation has been close to parity, with a price of 0.27 yuan per kilowatt-hour, and there is still room for decline." The person in charge of the photovoltaic power plant told reporters. The drawback of photovoltaic power generation is that it completely relies on sunlight. This topic is currently being studied technically. It is expected that energy storage technology can overcome the bottleneck of photovoltaic power generation. By then, photovoltaic power generation is expected to become the main force of clean energy power generation.

“Photovoltaic power generation is the cleanest method of power generation, no generators are needed, and there is no pollution. In Ningxia, wasteland, deserts and other land under photovoltaic racks can be used twice.” According to power engineer Yue Xinfeng, photovoltaic power generation is the most promising future Clean energy power generation model.

According to the relevant person in charge of the Development and Reform Commission of the Autonomous Region, our region is the first comprehensive demonstration area for new energy identified by the state and an important base for the large-scale promotion and application of green energy. According to the relevant planning of the autonomous region, photovoltaic projects are mainly located in the central arid areas such as Zhongning, Qingtongxia, Hongsipu, Yanchi, and Tongxin along the Yellow River, and wind power projects are mainly located in areas such as Helan Mountain, Mahuang Mountain, and Xiangshan. At present, 11 photovoltaic parks and 10 large-scale wind farms have been formed in the whole district, and the development of clean energy industry has broad prospects.

Hydropower biomass power generation wind and water

In the Yellow River section of Ningxia, two hydropower stations have been built, namely the Shapotou Water Control Project and the Qingtongxia Hydropower Station. The two hydropower stations have an installed capacity of 420,000 kilowatts and an annual power output of 2.2 billion kilowatt-hours, accounting for a relatively small proportion of the total power generation installations.

Niushoushan Pumped Storage Power Station is located in Qingtongxia City, at the western foot of Niushou Mountain on the right bank of Qingtongxia Reservoir on the Yellow River. The Niushoushan pumped storage project has now entered the preparatory stage. This project is a key project in the 13th Five-Year Plan of National Hydropower Development and the only pumped storage project in our district. The project plans to have an installed capacity of 1 million kilowatts and an annual power generation of 1.606 billion kilowatt hours.

According to the relevant person in charge of the Development and Reform Commission of the Autonomous Region, the development and construction of new energy power stations such as wind power and photovoltaics requires the construction of pumped storage power stations with good regulation performance. As a system security power supply, it is necessary to solve large-scale areas with abundant new energy such as wind power and photovoltaics. The problem of safe and stable operation of the power system caused by the development will play a role in cutting peaks and filling valleys, stabilizing the grid, improving the utilization and quality of wind power and solar energy, and promoting the consumption of new energy.

Using biomass such as domestic waste to generate electricity, our district has gradually become a scale. In the solid waste recycling economy industrial park of Jinji Industrial Park in Wuzhong City, a domestic waste incineration power generation project invested and constructed by a new energy company in Ningxia has been in operation for nearly 5 years.

"Our domestic waste incineration power generation project has a designed daily processing capacity of 500 tons, which can process about 250,000 tons of comprehensive waste a year, and can digest more than 97% of the local domestic waste in Wuzhong City. The annual power generation capacity is about 80 million kilowatt hours. Resourcing, reducing, and harmless', and solving nearly 100 jobs at the same time." said Wei Xianlu, general manager of a company in Ningxia.

Broaden the high-speed path for clean energy development

"As of now, the region's renewable energy power generation capacity has reached 21.9 million kilowatts, of which 11.56 million kilowatts of wind power, 9.83 million kilowatts of photovoltaic power generation, 426,000 kilowatts of hydropower and 90,000 kilowatt hours of biomass power generation. Clean energy power generation installed capacity. The proportion is 42%, and the proportion of power generation is 21%. In the future, the proportion will increase year by year." The current problem to be solved is the electricity consumption of clean energy. In accordance with national requirements, all localities must establish and implement a guarantee mechanism for the consumption of renewable energy. Our district actively guides industry, transportation, agriculture and other end users to preferentially choose clean energy power, forming a long-term development mechanism led by clean energy power consumption. Strengthen the construction of clean energy power prediction and demand-side management response systems, optimize power dispatch, improve market transactions and assessment mechanisms, and promote the improvement of clean energy power consumption. Encourage large industrial loads to participate in the ancillary service market, make use of the flexible electricity potential of high-load energy loads, and absorb the replacement of volatile clean energy electricity.

“The volatility of wind power and photovoltaic power poses a threat to the safe operation of the power grid. The consumption of wind and solar power is the current bottleneck for the development of clean power. Since the beginning of this year, the utilization rate of wind power and solar power in our district has reached 97.9%. With the continuous improvement of energy consumption, the pressure will be even greater.” According to the relevant person in charge of the Development and Reform Commission of the Autonomous Region, our district is currently accelerating the construction of power transmission and smart grids, and strives to build the capital of Ningxia, which focuses on clean energy transmission during the 14th Five-Year Plan. To the Central China/Southwest ±800 kV DC transmission project, continue to increase the proportion of new energy delivered to Yindong, Lingshao, and Zhaoyi DCs that have been built. By 2025, strive to deliver more than 18 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, and increase the proportion of clean energy electricity sent to 35%. Improve the 750kV, 330kV and 220kV main grids, promote the optimization and upgrading of urban and rural distribution networks, accelerate the promotion of renewable energy power access projects, and build a safe, reliable, green and efficient clean energy power consumption Smart grid system.

The rise of clean power is also gradually changing the power structure of our district.
