Clarkson statistics show that in April 2019, the global shipyard delivered a total of 121 new ships, totaling 70,159,024 DWT. Compared with the 144 ships delivered by global new ships in March 2019, the total number of ships was down by 15.97%, and the deadweight tons decreased by 12.50%. Compared with the global shipyards in April 2018, a total of 151 new ships were delivered, a total of 7,241,346 deadweights, a decrease of 19.87% year-on-year, and a deadweight loss of 3.11%.

According to Clarkson statistics, the price indices of new bulk carriers, oil tankers and container ships in April were 131, 155 and 82 respectively.

In April, the price of new ships for bulk carriers and the price of new ships for all types of bulk carriers were unchanged from last month.
