The pace of utilization of new energy vehicle power battery ladders is accelerating

After the new energy vehicle power battery is decommissioned, it can maximize the utilization of battery residual energy resources through the use of the ladder. Generally, when the capacity of a new energy vehicle power battery is attenuated to less than 80%, it will not be able to fully satisfy the vehicle power demand, but it can be used in other fields. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has actively carried out pilot projects for the recycling of new energy vehicles' power batteries, and promoted the use of elevators in the fields of power generation and energy storage in enterprises such as automobile manufacturing, battery production and comprehensive utilization to explore new business models.
State Grid built a 100kWh ladder in Beijing Daxing to use the lithium manganese oxide battery energy storage system demonstration, and built a 1MWh ladder in Zhangbei to use the lithium iron phosphate battery energy storage system demonstration to effectively verify the feasibility of the use of the energy storage field. At the same time, the decommissioning battery sorting evaluation technology platform was established, the battery matching technical specifications were formulated, and an efficient and reliable battery management system was developed.
Beijing Artisan has developed a cascade of optical energy storage systems and is building a power battery pack (group) evaluation system based on big data. Beijing Pride and BAIC have cooperated in the implementation of energy storage power station projects and containerized energy storage projects, with a cumulative utilization of about 75MWh.
China Railway Tower Company has used 12,000 base stations in 31 provinces and cities nationwide to carry out battery-utilizing applications. The use of batteries is about 1.5GWh. The current operation is good, which fully verifies the feasibility of using safety and technical economy. At the same time, China Railway Tower took the lead in breaking through the key technologies of batch utilization such as battery grouping and capacity evaluation.
Shenzhen BYD, Guoxuan Hi-Tech and other enterprises use decommissioned power batteries to produce battery products for the use of electricity in the field of backup. Wuxi GEM and SF Company explored the use of batteries for urban logistics vehicles, and Zhongtianhong Lithium promoted the use of batteries in sanitation and sightseeing vehicles through the “sale and sale” model.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has completed the application of the power battery code of 34 ladder-use enterprises to achieve traceability information management for the enterprises that use the ladder. The National Automobile Standardization Technical Committee organized the development of relevant standards for the use of power battery ladders, and national standards such as residual energy testing have been released and implemented. China Iron Tower Corporation is taking the lead in developing relevant industry standards for the use of ladders in the communications field.
The utilization of new energy vehicle power battery ladders is in its infancy, with great development potential and broad market prospects. The problem is that key technical bottlenecks such as battery remaining life and consistency assessment have yet to be broken, and management mechanisms and business models need to be further explored and improved.
