Hitachi's ABB power grid equipment health management software helps the digital upgrade of Gansu power grid

Hitachi ABB Grid will cooperate with the Electric Power Research Institute of Gansu Electric Power Company to help it intelligently manage the health status of the 750 kV main transformers in the province through the Lumada Equipment Health Center (APM) digital solution to achieve key changes. The predictive maintenance of electrical equipment improves the safety level of power grid equipment and advances the digitalization process.

Gansu Electric Power Company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of State Grid Corporation of China, serving approximately 9.06 million users. The Gansu power grid is an important channel for power transmission from west to east and a hub for power exchange in the northwest. Wind power and solar energy account for 41.9% of the installed capacity, which is a typical "green power grid" in China. This cooperation will monitor, evaluate and manage the health status of 750 kV transformers in Gansu Province.

As the core equipment of the substation, ensuring the good operation of the main transformer is essential to the reliability of the main power grid. The Lumada APM solution will collect real-time data of transformer operation through a standard and safe visualization program, and perform data analysis and interpretation through the built-in equipment evaluation model, so as to realize early warning of abnormal conditions of transformer equipment, and recommend maintenance programs, from regular maintenance to The transition of state maintenance.

The intelligent platform can transform the operation and maintenance work from "prevention" to "prediction". As the model's data learning capabilities continue to improve, the accuracy of predictions will gradually improve, greatly reducing the economic loss caused by failures or unexpected power outages , Extend the operating life of the equipment and ensure the stable operation of the power grid.

Zhang Jinquan, Executive Vice President of Hitachi ABB Power Grid and President of Greater China, said: “The digital upgrade of the power grid can improve the flexibility, resilience and reliability of the entire power value chain and provide strong support for the energy system towards a carbon-neutral future. I am pleased to be able to use Lumada's equipment health management solutions and services to help the digital construction of State Grid Gansu Company, improve the efficiency and stability of grid operation, and enhance the utilization and transmission of large-scale clean energy."

Hitachi ABB's Lumada APM solution combines deep industry expertise with Lumada's advanced IoT capabilities to help users increase flexibility and provide value faster. At present, the program has a lot of mature application experience in the global power grid and industrial fields, and can help users reduce tens of millions of dollars in direct or indirect economic losses caused by catastrophic equipment failures every year. In China, this program has repeatedly provided equipment optimization operation services for the State Grid, China Southern Power Grid and Inner Mongolia Electric Power Group to improve equipment utilization, operating efficiency and service life.
