The robotics industry is known as "the jewel at the top of the manufacturing crown." China is the world's largest robot market, and Shanghai is one of the largest agglomerations of my country's robotics industry. One-third of the global robot output is in China, and one-third of China's robot output is in Shanghai. The robot industry is becoming a new business card for "Made in Shanghai".
On December 19, the first Shanghai Industrial Robot Technology Application Skills Competition and the 4th National Industrial Robot Skill Application Competition Trial Finals officially opened.It is reported that the competition was officially launched in May. A total of 72 contestants from various vocational schools, technical colleges and related companies in the city signed up for the competition, including 42 teachers (employees) and 30 students, with an average age of 27.
The robot industry has become an important pillar for Shanghai to promote technological innovation, develop intelligent manufacturing, and consolidate the real economy.
In terms of industrial robots, the output of industrial robots in Shanghai in 2019 was close to 50,000 units, accounting for nearly 1/3 of the national scale and about 1/9 of the global scale.
In terms of service robots, a large number of Gazelle companies in sub-sectors have grown rapidly and have emerged as a new generation of industrial forces and technology sources, such as Xiaoi, Dana, and Gaoxian. At present, the Shanghai robot industry has initially formed a "3+X" spatial layout.
Han Dadong, director of the Intelligent Manufacturing Promotion Division of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, said that 2020 will be an extraordinary year for the robotics industry. On the one hand, affected by the decline of the automobile industry and the impact of the new crown epidemic, Shanghai’s industrial robot output has experienced negative growth for the first time in many years. Enterprises are facing the test of how to turn "danger" into "opportunity"; on the other hand, service robots have sprung up in the medical field. , Business, education and people’s livelihood are playing an increasingly important role.
Regarding the next development direction of the robot industry in Shanghai, Han Dadong believes that first, it is necessary to accelerate the expansion of the promotion and application of robots in all walks of life, create a benchmarking project for the application of industrial robots, and carry out the "10030" special project citywide, with the help of robots to empower and promote Build 100 smart manufacturing factories and drive the addition of 10,000 robots.
The second is to vigorously promote the consolidation of the robot industry chain to strengthen the chain, seize the opportunity of industrial chain reconstruction under the internal circulation of the epidemic, increase the research and development of key robot parts, and enhance the domestic substitution capabilities of weak links.
The third is to accelerate the improvement of the robot industry ecosystem in the Yangtze River Delta.
"Shanghai is holding this competition in the hope that through the development of high-quality competitions, a good atmosphere for the development of skilled talents will be created, and relevant institutions will be guided to innovate talent training models, improve the level of running schools, and train and gather a group of support for the industrial robot industry. The innovative and developed technical talent team provides solid technical talent support for Shanghai to complete the'three tasks', strengthen the'four functions', and build the'five centers'." Han Dadong said.
It is reported that the competition is divided into two stages: preliminary and final. The preliminary contest mainly examines the level of the contestants' industrial robot programming and debugging, electrical maintenance, mechanical installation and maintenance. Those who pass the preliminary competition can obtain the special professional ability certificate of "Basic Programming and Maintenance of Industrial Robots". The finals adopt theoretical examinations and practical operation competitions to focus on the theoretical and technical level of the contestants to design, install, debug and manipulate industrial robots to complete the designated tasks.
At present, after fierce preliminary competition, a total of 50 contestants have emerged to enter the final. The final winners will be recommended to participate in the honorary titles of Shanghai Technical Expert, May 1st Labor Medal, and Shanghai Youth Post Expert. At the same time, the top contestants will also be recommended to participate in the 4th National Industrial Robot Skills Application Competition to be held next year.
