"Force Majeure" Calls for Postponement

The sudden epidemic has brought incalculable impacts on the wind power and photovoltaic industries, and there is an urgent need to introduce policies to "stabilize investment, stabilize employment, maintain growth, and promote development."

For the wind power and photovoltaic industries that are on the way to parity in an orderly manner, the outbreak of new coronary pneumonia in 2020 is undoubtedly a "black swan" event. The epidemic has affected enterprises to varying degrees. The Party Central Committee attached great importance to it and struck a set of policy combinations. The promulgation of a series of policies and measures to help companies fight against risks and tide over difficulties has injected "heart-strengthening agents" into the majority of wind power and photovoltaic companies.

The epidemic situation no longer exists

At present, although the domestic epidemic situation has improved, its spread overseas is still increasing. At 22:00 on April 15th, Beijing time, data from Hopkins University in the United States showed that there were more than 2 million confirmed cases of new crowns worldwide. The spread of the global epidemic has made the recovery of overseas photovoltaic markets full of uncertainty. The stagnation of overseas projects, the global "closure of cities and countries", cancellation of flights and interruption of transportation will have a serious impact on the export of photovoltaic products.

Compared with 2019, while the decline in domestic photovoltaic installations, the increase in overseas demand has served as a “emergency” role. Among them, the export volume of photovoltaic modules alone reached 66.6GW, accounting for about 67.5% of the total domestic module output, and the exports of major leading companies accounted for about 70% to 80%. Due to the rapid growth of the overseas market last year, the photovoltaic manufacturing industry has good expectations for the global market, and since the beginning of the year have begun to expand production plans.

Now, under the fierce epidemic, the overseas market is "in a mess", and most companies have returned to the point of survival.
