Industry 4.0 sweeps the globe

Small sensors have become the foundation and support of the new generation of information technology, and have become one of the focuses of the 2019 China International Intelligent Industry Expo. On August 24th, many sensor practitioners gathered at the "2019 China International Intelligent Industry Expo Sensor and Internet of Things Summit Forum" to discuss the development of China's sensor industry.

At present, the tide of Industry 4.0 has swept the world, and many enterprises are vigorously carrying out industrial intelligent upgrading and upgrading to adapt to the new changes in the new era. The sensor is an important part of this industry upgrade wave.

A sensor is a multi-element integrated circuit with information acquisition, information processing, information exchange, and information storage functions. It is a system-level product that integrates a sensor chip, a communication chip, a microprocessor, a driver, and a software algorithm. The basic, leading and strategic industries of the overall development of the industry and national economic security.

With the rapid development of next-generation information technologies such as industrial Internet, big data, Internet of Things, and artificial intelligence, the sensor application market is experiencing explosive growth. According to market research institutions, China's sensor market will reach 166 billion yuan in 2019. The compound annual growth rate will be 11.65% in the next five years (2019-2023) and 258 billion yuan in 2023.

Driven by policies and markets, China's sensor industry is becoming more and more ecological, and key enterprises such as design, manufacturing, packaging and testing have backbone enterprises. At present, there are nearly 2,000 related companies engaged in sensor research, including nearly 30 listed companies. All kinds of sensor products basically meet the domestic market demand.

However, due to the late start, China's sensor industry still faces problems such as insufficient supply of high-end sensor products, weak technological innovation capability, and lack of coordination between scientific research and production. The resulting industrial safety and information security challenges cannot be ignored.

"Don't say it in 20 years. 'At that time, we didn't grasp the basics at that time." In the view of Yang Xueshan, former deputy minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and honorary chairman of the China Sensors and Internet of Things Industry Alliance, the sensor is small, but the importance is not However, speeding up the development of China's sensor industry is the key to realizing industrial intelligence.

Cultivate and expand China's sensor industry, improve sensor technology innovation capability and manufacturing level, and shorten the gap with advanced foreign countries. The country has already accurately arranged. A series of national policies such as the “13th Five-Year National Science and Technology Innovation Plan”, “Accelerating the Action Plan for Accelerating the Development of Sensors and Intelligent Instrumentation Industry”, and “Outline for the Development of National IC Industry” pointed out that the focus is on strengthening the research and development of new sensors. Enhance the application of sensor technology in intelligent manufacturing systems, enhance the innovation capability and international competitiveness of the sensor and intelligent instrumentation industry.

Shen Liping, former deputy chief designer of China’s manned spaceflight project and academician of the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA), suggested: “Like the development of chip technology, we must focus on the development, preparation and application of advanced sensing technology.” In July 2018, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology officially approved the National Intelligent Sensor Innovation Center. The Innovation Center is dedicated to research and development platforms for key common technologies and device structures in sensors, enabling R&D supply, transfer diffusion and first commercialization.

In addition to the national level, local governments are also strongly supporting the development of the sensor industry. At the Chongqing Zhibo Conference held on the 24th, Chongqing Sensor Industrial Base was officially unveiled. Relying on the sensor industry base, Chongqing Beibei will rapidly cultivate the sensor industry innovation ecosystem, strengthen the support capabilities for instrumentation, intelligent equipment, new display and other advantageous industries, and promote the development of big data intelligent industry with sensors and Internet of Things.

The industry is moving towards intelligence, and everything is moving toward interconnection. This is inseparable from sensor support. In the future, the market, technology and policies will drive the rapid development of China's sensor industry, and the prospects are clear.
