The battery energy density has exceeded 170Wh/kg. How much will the subsidy threshold increase next year?

Tram News: In the latest batch of new energy vehicle recommended catalogue issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the energy density of 25 pure electric passenger car power battery systems are higher than 120Wh/kg, among which Dongfeng Motor Group's Fengshen DFM7000G1F7BEV pure electric car battery system The energy density reached 170Wh/kg, a record high.

Among the 56 pure electric vehicles, the energy density of the power battery system is concentrated in the range of 120 (inclusive) to 150 Wh/kg. Among the 51 passenger cars, the energy density of the power battery system is concentrated in the range of 135 (inclusive) to 150 Wh/kg, up to 40 models.

In terms of pure electric passenger cars, the battery system energy density of all 25 pure electric passenger car models in this recommended catalogue is 120Wh/kg and above. According to the requirements of the new energy vehicle subsidy policy for the performance indicators of pure electric passenger vehicles, all the pure electric passenger car models in this batch of recommended catalogues can be subsidized by 1 time or more. Among them, 16 can receive 1.1 times subsidy, and 4 can receive 1.2 times subsidy.

Judging from the energy density requirements in the subsidy standards in the past two years, models below 120Wh/kg will gradually withdraw from the pure electric vehicle market. Since the 105-120Wh/kg model can only get a coefficient of 0.6 times, according to this calculation, the pure electric passenger car with a battery life of 300km will take 27,000 yuan (0.6 times) due to the difference in energy density. 45,000 yuan (1 time), 49,500 yuan (1.1 times), 54,000 yuan (1.2 times) of state-funded funds. The difference between 0.6 times and 1 time has reached 18,000 yuan, which will be the case that the car companies are trying to put an end to it. According to the recent recommendations of several batches of catalogues, models below 120Wh/kg have disappeared.

In 2017, the subsidy policy has a subsidy threshold of 105Wh/kg. In 2018, the threshold is raised to 120Wk/kg. According to this trend, the threshold for subsidizing the standard for passenger cars in 2019 is likely to increase to 140Wh/kg.

In the non-fast charge class pure electric bus, the energy density of the battery systems of the 51 non-fast charge type pure electric buses in this batch of recommended catalogues are all above 115Wh/kg. Among them, the battery system energy density of 135Wh / kg or more models accounted for 88.24%. According to the new energy vehicle subsidy policy requirements for non-fast charge class pure electric bus performance indicators, the non-fast charge class pure electric bus models in this batch of recommended catalogues can be subsidized by 1 time or more. Among them, 88.24% of the models can receive a subsidy of 1.1 times and above.

In terms of pure electric vehicles, the battery system energy density of all 56 pure electric special vehicle models in this batch of catalogues exceeds 115 wh/kg, which are in line with the technical requirements of the new energy vehicle subsidy policy.

In the 2018 subsidy policy requirements, the battery energy density requirements for non-fast charge pure electric buses and pure electric vehicles are 115Wh/kg. In the latest batch of recommended catalogues, the system energy density of passenger car batteries is concentrated above 135Wh/kg, and the system energy density of special-purpose car batteries is also above 120Wh/kg. According to this trend, it is expected that the threshold for double subsidies for passenger cars will increase to 140Wh/kg in 2019, and the threshold for passenger cars and special vehicles will increase to 135Wh/kg.
